Skincare is one of the hottest trends on social media these days. While we see celebrities dropping hundreds of dollars on products that isn't totally necessary, I’m going to show you a few cheap alternatives to keeping clear skin. The beauty world has blossomed in the past few years from face mask reviews, makeup artists on instagram, popular spa treatments and more. Keeping great skin should be a top priority, the clearer your skin the better you feel.
Everyone's skin care routine is going to look a little different depending on what type of skin you have. The range starts at very oily and goes to very dry, the most important thing to do is find where you fall on the scale, and make sure the products you’re using are not actually making your skin worse. Personally I fall on the side of having slightly oily skin. What that means is that I have to look for products that don’t overly dry out my skin and also don’t cause my skin to produce more oil. So here's a look into how my day to day skin care routine goes!
First, when I shower I always go in with the Simple brand moisturizing face wash. Their products are meant for those with sensitive skin, so for me this means that the product will not dry my face out, but also allows me to remove excess dirt, oil and sweat from my skin. It’s important not to overload your skin with tons of products because in the end you'll end up reclogging your pores and overwhelming the skin.
Next after I shower, I pat dry my face with a clean towel, if you use the same towel you dry your body or hair with you have the risk of transmitting those products into your skin. So next step is to go in with the L’oreal hydra fresh toner. Toner allows your skin to balance out, so your skin is neither dry or oily, it has the perfect balance. Another great thing toner does is that if you happen to get those areas of dry skin from the sun or your face wash it will rehydrate those dry patches so they don’t become flakey.
Lastly, once to twice a week I like to have a little fun and use a face mask! Face masks can be super fun and a great way to unwind and enjoy the night. My favorite face masks come from Lush! Lush does an amazing job of finding a mask that is going to personally benefit your skin in the areas it’s lacking. The cost is anywhere from 10-20$ for a fresh handmade mask that lasts up to three weeks. Their masks are made with all natural ingredients so they're even better for your skin!
